The USDA Forest Service must endeavor to place the safety of employees above all else and ensure recognized hazards are mitigated. The Forest Service's goal is to develop a culture that achieves and maintains a zero accident rate. Prior to conducting any work projects, all risks should be mitigated to the lowest acceptable level. The original FAT file system (or FAT structure, as it was called initially) was designed and coded by Marc McDonald, based on a series of discussions between McDonald and Bill Gates. It was introduced with 8-bit table elements (and valid data cluster numbers up to 0xBF) in a precursor to Microsoft's Standalone Disk BASIC-80 for an 8080-based successor of the NCR 7200 model VI data-entry.

A Global Namespace Per Cluster Using ViewFs

In order to provide transparency with the old world, the ViewFs file system (i.e. client-side mount table) is used to create each cluster an independent cluster namespace view, which is similar to the namespace in the old world. The client-side mount tables like the Unix mount tables and they mount the new namespace volumes using the old naming convention. The following figure shows a mount table mounting four namespace volumes /user, /data, /projects, and /tmp:

ViewFs implements the Hadoop file system interface just like HDFS and the local file system. It is a trivial file system in the sense that it only allows linking to other file systems. Because ViewFs implements the Hadoop file system interface, it works transparently Hadoop tools. Flexiglass 1 6 – window manager. For example, all the shell commands work with ViewFs as with HDFS and local file system.

The mount points of a mount table are specified in the standard Hadoop configuration files. In the configuration of each cluster, the default file system is set to the mount table for that cluster as shown below (compare it with the configuration in Single Namenode Clusters).

The authority following the viewfs:// scheme in the URI is the mount table name. It is recommanded that the mount table of a cluster should be named by the cluster name. Then Hadoop system will look for a mount table with the name 'clusterX' in the Hadoop configuration files. Operations arrange all gateways and service machines to contain the mount tables for ALL clusters such that, for each cluster, the default file system is set to the ViewFs mount table for that cluster as described above. SAP Solution Manager Setup & Configuration

Welcome to the Wiki with information about all topics around setup and configuration of SAP Solution Manager.
Back to parent page SAP Application Operations (AppOps)

SAP Solution Manager offers a guided configuration. You can access it with transaction code SOLMAN_SETUP or with the launchpad tile Configuration - All Scenarios. It allows an easy and fast step-by-step configuration of SAP Solution Manager. So it is easy to keep track of the open and performed tasks. You can postpone activities and easly access them later on by calling SOLMAN_SETUP again. A lot of previously time-consuming steps are now done automatically. Additionally, SOLMAN_SETUP allows to configure all managed systems from one central entry point.

All steps of the configuration scenarios have a consistent design, which makes it easier for you to navigate. At the top of a configuration scenario, you see a roadmap telling you where you are within the configuration process. Every step contains a Help section, providing detailed information, such as what needs to be done and what will happen in the background. The Activities section, lists all activities along with a documentation. These documentations describe what exactly has to be done, e.g. in manual steps, and also provides error-handling procedures. The Log section shows detailed logs for every activity that was performed.
